I am the proud new owner of a 2008 528xi (standard model), just learning all the bells and whistles, but love it thus far! I have a quick question regarding wheel bolt pattern layouts. I live in the Northeast, and am looking at a set of gently used ASA wheels with Dunlop SP M3 winter tires (225/50/17) (5 bolt, previously used on a 545i). Are the bolt patterns standard in the 5 series for 17" wheels. If so, should these fit my 08?

Thanks for you help!

to the forum and congrats on your new e60. I believe the offsets might be different due to the fact that you are in an xi.

I am sure other more knowledgeable members will chime in soon...GL

I believe the bolt patterns are the same on all E60's. The only one that was a different was an older model (E34 I believe). If you want to be absolutely sure you could ask the seller for the bolt pattern and compare it with the number on here.

& congrats on the new ride!

Yes the 5-bolt pattern are identical across the 'i' & 'xi' E60 model with the exception of on the 'xi' model we use higher/bigger offset, so fit yes but may stick out but not sure by how far. Our offset for 17" wheel is at ET43 while the rest at ET20.

You already got the answers to your wheel question and it's offset that makes xi wheels unique ... it's a detail that has caught many new owners by surprise - an expensive surprise.

That said, used wheels are available - search the classified on this forum. And I'm in a similar situation at this very moment!

Good luck with your decisions and welcome to the best BMW forum on the web!
