I swear I have read no less then 60 threads on this topic but i still dont feel confident I 100% understand. My question is will this setup work on my 06 530xi?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/20-SSR-GT3-...A1%7C240%3A1318

Its the right bolt pattern, i know 20's will work and from what i understand as long as the offset is 38 or higher they should be good?

I appreciate the help!

So standard wheel size on xi are 18x8 ET:43.

According to the calculator comparing stock to 20"x9" Offset 40....
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

The rims will stick out an addition 16mm. Yes, the offset is close, but the 20 inch rims are one inch wider than stock.

I run a pretty aggressive offset on my car and I stick out 10mm at the rears... but I bottom out when I go over bumps even with fenders rolled. Plus if you are sticking out 16mm in the front, I don't even think you could do full turns without rubbing...unless your car sits really high
