Just bought a used 2007 550i Sport, being delivered next week. It comes with style 124 wheels I believe.

I've been thinking about putting on 19" wheels, maybe style 166. However in looking at pics, some cars in photos seem like they ride 'high' with 166s. I don't see the same effect with the stock 124s in photos.

So my question would be will 19" rims not look good if i don't get it dropped as well? Does the ride height on the stock 124s look pretty good w/o any modifications?

I'll probably stick with the current wheels if moving to 19 will also require new springs to get the car to look right.

Suggestions?

Congrats, and Welcome to the Forum. You'll find some great info here.

First, do you have the sport suspension? If you do, then adding the 166 wheels will not change the gap that you currently have, and you will not need to get springs to get it lower. I've seen a few 545's with 19's and they look great. I've personally seen one that had the 19" 166's, and again, they look great on the E60.

Enjoy your new toy.

Good Luck!!

I have a 2006 550i with 124s and they are nice. The ride height and clearance is perfect with sport.

The 166 with M6 Offsets would look awesome especially if you have the sports packages. That's going to be my next upgrade for next summer. Go for it, and make to look one mean machine.....

Just lots of rim cleaning and a bit of a chore with so many spokes/indentations. get a pair of Breyton Racer GTS in 19". Thats what I am considering. I have 2 little kids and wife and am having difficult time convncing myself to buy $3000 worth of wheels rather than stick with my 124s which are nice...Not gonna win me a contest, but $3k is $3k.

hmm tough choice - i guess i'll have to see how the 124s look for a bit and then decide. It does look like the sport package has a good look with 19s.

I have a non-sport suspension and 19" wheels. Most people here tell me to lower, and sure it would look. But it is not so bad in reality.

In the forums it's like seeing beautiful girls in tv and thinking "oh why my wife/girlfriend doesn't look like them?". But after all she is beautiful and you love her!

See my gallery if you like and welcome to the forum!
