Hi my car is a December 2004 build (UK). I want to replace my window switch panel (as mine has a scratch on it).
I've seen a second hand one on ebay, and checked the part number on real oem.com. (Part no: 61 31 6 943 266).
It says that it is only valid for cars up to 9/2004 build. After that the part number was updated.
Anyone know what the extent of the change was???
Could I swap the wiring/plugs on my existing panel with the new one that I buy ? Or is there something else that's different that means this older part will not be compatible with my car.
Thanks for your help guys.

I would not recommend buying any older switch. The switch has a controller chip in it that communicates with the door module. So its more than just passive switching. Also the problem is that the switch is not available without the trim piece attached to it.

I had the same question too! So, it sounds like you can not get the trim piece that goes around the switches? My switches are fine...just need the black rubber texture trim that goes around it. If that is sold seperately anyone have a part number for it?
