question about angel eyes
#1
I would like to install one of those blue angel eyes but I have noticed there are several kinds of them. Can you guys recommend me which bulbs are really good? Wonder if Installing one of these could effect the Manufacturer' s warranty. Thanks in advance! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

LCI or Pre-LCI e60...
If pre-LCI e60:

AFAIK, this mod does not effect the warranty....

LCI or Pre-LCI e60...
It is LCI with factory installed xenon headlights (manufactured in May of 2008).
Is it not possible to install one of these on LCIs? Would it cause errors or problems with ccc? or other electronic functions of the car?

For LCI e60's it is a different bulb (h8). I know that site advertises 2008 models, but none have actually been released as far as I know. They are still in development. A number of members here have pre-ordered waiting for an LCI version, still waiting or have gotten a refund. Their LCI version was to be out around early summer, pre-orders were made in feb.
As far as an H8 bulb, you;ll probablly need one at 8000k or higher for a blueish look.

For the LCI models, I recommend the Xenesis Tru Match Bulbs we carry which will upgrade the color to a pure white light output.

My Ride: 2008 E60 520d - 1995cc-177bhp, Business audio, Adaptive Xenons, ACS Roof & Trunk Spoilers, M6 Kidney Grill, ///M Badging, Carbon Fibre Door Lock Pins, ///M Wheel hub caps,
hi all,
Mine is a 2008 LCI with bi xenons xenons for both high and low beams) and want to upgrade my angel eyes bulbs to match my xenons.
From what i have read/researched in this forum, this is what i should be buying :
H8 bulb type - 6000k color temp
Is this right?
Also, which all brands can i get in this and where can i buy from? i want of a branded company, not the unbranded china/taiwan make, as i get them already in India, but they are not bright at all.
I read some forum members have put in PIAA and GP Thunder bulbs, but on my search in ebay and google, that PIAA and GPTHUNDER have only 5000k and 7500k and above bulbs, but not the 6000k.
So can someone please show me where i can buy them off the net from?
i am interested in brands like GP Thunder, Piaa, Narva (germany), Hella, Bosch, Philips or some good co. like this.
Thanks!

The H8 are extremely difficult to find, if you want the well-known brand. I have also done some research to search one that has a 5000K but managed only to find either GP Thunder (7500K, 8500K) and MTEC (4750k). I ended up buying the MTEC (which is made in Japan) and I found this still has a bit of the dull yellowish color. I paid about $40US (pair) for it.
Therefore, to get the bluish color that you are looking for, your best bet is to go with GP Thunder 8500K

Both Philips & Osram make the H8 but they are the OEM with real dull yellowish color. As far as I know, there is no immediate plan for either of them to make a higher K H8 bulb for the aftermarket.

aw shucks!
Well, the normal chinese/taiwanese h8 6000k bulbs are available in India for around US$20, hmm, i think i will put it on from my friends shop as a trial and see if i like it or not.
Thanks for the info!
