I was wanting to know what everyones opinion is on putting aftermarket parts on your E60 such as exhaust, aero kits etc. How much will it affect the warranty/resale value of the car?
There is alot of things that I would love to do to my E60, but Im somewhat sceptical because when I go to trade it down the road I want to be able to get a descent trade in. I know that when you do aftermarket stuff to your car, it decreases the range of potential buyers of the car from the dealership, thus decreasing your trade in value.
Any Thoughts?

This is the trade-off made by the decision to do aftermarket mods. The dealer WILL NOT give you the vaue of those mods when it comes to trade in. If anything, they will argue the car is worth less because of the mods.
You just have to accept this, and make your decision.
This is why it's always best to sell the car yourself. You'll always get more money for it, and an educated buyer may even recognize the benefit of your performance mods, and pay a fair price for the car.

BMW will void the warranty on your exhaust, and anything else affected during the install.... guaranteed.
Your dealer will give you less trade-in value, also.... guaranteed.
