I'm trying to put a quad exhaust system on my 530i once I get my MTech rear bumper, but I have a few questions. Why do people use the X pipe instead of just going straight pipes on the resonators into the mufflers? Which mufflers are everyone using? I don't want it too loud and annoying, but I want it considerably louder than stock as well. Thanks for the help! I came from tuning Honda's so it's much different than just using a mandrel bent 3 inch straight pipe all the way to a muffler and that's it haha.

Do a search on "drone" and "resonance" and you can see that we have this discussion in the past.

Unfortunately this is somewhat impossible to achieve.
We offer a quad system for the 530i, you can hear comparable engines here with our exhaust :

Our exhausts are deeper, not overly loud, and have next to no drone/resonance interference.
