A shop in Northern Virginia quoted me $400 to $450 to paint and install the mtec side skirts. This seems really high to me. I was under the impression that average body shop hourly rates were well under $100/hr and that to paint these two skirts and install them wouldn't be more than 2.5 or 3 hours.
I know quite a few people on the board have done this mod. Would you mind chiming in with what you have paid for the painting / installation?
Thanks

I paid $240 for paint and installation combined. Install took 1 hour because of some fitment issues. Otherwise it would have taken 30 minutes.

please elaborate on "fitment issues" cuz i'm get'n mine installed next week. thanks.
I am not sure if the people posting these issues purchased their skirts from Trinity, Umnitza, or another vendor. Trinity has told me their parts are not from the same manufacturer as Umnitza.
I purchased mine from Trinity and specifically asked about known fitment problems. Trinity insists that they haven't had any fitment issues with theirs based on installs they have done in their shop and feedback from their customers. That much said, one poster did report on this forum of fitment issues on Trinity's bumper this week. They had to shave the plastic a bit to get things to fit properly. In the end they seemed to be happy. Trinity said this was the first time they had had this problem.
My conclusion on reviewing multiple posts from people who have installed aftermarket: If you want a guaranteed perfect fit you will get it with OEM parts - If you want to save money go with aftermarket but be prepared for the off chance that the body shop doing the install has to slightly tailor the part.
I'd be curious for others to chime in based on their experience.

There are two posts within the last few weeks of people who said their aftermarket side skirts didn't quite fit just right. In one case they had to glue a few pieces of plastic on the part and in the other they needed some extra screws. At the same time there are many posts of people who said they fit perfectly.
