For all the PM'rs i'm NOT gonna repeat meself for 10 times so i will qoute:
Thank You.
Cables are made for pre LCI Halogen to LCI Halogen (with projector).
I used HID's so i wont get iDrive errors.
Cables also work if you have pre LCI Xenon and going to LCI Xenon, just need to add a extra wire (ground) for the Xenon's
NOTE: If you go pre LCI Halo to LCI Xenon without the propper light module (if it works at all with the old light module = 280? + coding) you will have iDrive errors!! or you can install HID's instead of the OEM ballast and bulb.

My Ride: 2006 520d - 19" 172s- Remapped - LCI taillights V6 cables - LCI xenon headlights - Denison 500 with BTA1500 - led interior lights - OEM led number plate lights
Planned mods:
Folding mirrors - Modmynav kit - High gloss shadowline trim -
Good news and bad news.
Good news is lights work and cables fit fine.
Bad news is I get a rear light right side error everytime the brake is pressed for 5 seconds and when the low beams are on. I have tried adding a HID kit from John and a error canceller cable but still get the message.
I have spoke to Sas and will be returning the cables but I am sure it's just a one off with my car.
I now have a set of LCI halogen headlights to get rid of so if anyone is interested in them send me a pm.

Seems more bad than good for now at least from my point of view as another UK member who was going to pull the trigger on this mod. I have pre-lci halogens and want LCI Halogens with an HID kit. Pre-LCI xenon headlights don't look as nice as LCI ones in my opinion so I was watching this with great interest. Amazing how complicated the electrical stuff is on modern cars. Even more amazing that it works for some and does not for others! Lets really hope there is a fix for this one.

They where prior to the install of my cables. He only hoped that the error would go away, cant blame the guy for trying.
And thats why i've put a NOTE:
The faults came up during his first swap: Bi-xenon retrofit - Unusual error messages

So in other words, he had a pre-existing error/problem. I take your point about the NOTE above and what I understand from it is that the Light Module (be it proper=new OR old=requiring recoding) does NOT matter if one plans to put in an after-market HID kit anyway. Light module only comes into play IF one wishes to do a true retrofit where OEM bulbs etc are used instead of an after-market HID. OK so there is still hope for me with this
!
!The NOTE: was not intended to you, sorry bout that
