Only 272 hp. I thought 550i can produced over 350+ hp. Is it me or is there another way to read this dyno result?

This is measuring horsepower at the wheels and not at the crank I believe. Horsepower at the wheels is considerably lower than hp at the crank. The 360 horsepower rating of the 550's engine is at the crank and not at the wheels.

Dyno numbers from different dynos also vary. Also, Dyno Dynamics usually read very low compared to other dynos like Dynojets.

How much difference are we talking about? 10 hp or 50 hp

I am not a technical car expert but that has always been my understanding of how that works. If I got it wrong, we have a ton of experts here who know more than me about those things and who will correct me.

There are a lot of variables that will affect dyno results. Even two of the same type of dynos can give different results depending on how it was operated. But as an example, for the M5, they average about 410-420rwhp+ on dynojets but only 380-390rwhp+ on dyno dynamics.

RPIPower (Eloy) is probably the most knowledgeable person on this board to answer questions about dynos.
