I've had the Potenza RE960AS's for 2 years now (approx 30,000 miles) and have never had any problems in winter and summer, the grip is excellent in all the season but its still not the best in thick snow.

Seems that the Potenza RE960's and the DWS's are the finalists... Is it worth the extra money for the Potenzas - that is the question, really. And seeing how these will not be on all year long - just the end of fall through mid-spring - the lower cost seems to outweigh the benefits of the more expensive RE960.

Also, thank you, everyone who advised a winter set of tires, but in my case it won't be necessary - it does not snow that often in NYC, my car is parked off the street and is not driven very much in the bad weather, but most importantly, it is an Xi, so I'm confident that a set of good A/S tires will be more than sufficient. I drove the last winter on almost bald summer RFTs and made it ok actually

Hey, if anyone has some more info on either of these tires, please do continue to chime in.

Forget snow tires Vlad, just move to SoCal - that way you don't need em

Exactly! And I won't need the awd anymore so I can finally get that M3 I've been dreaming about... hook up with Meadow Soprano or smth

I'll be talking when my car's not riding on 3 and a half wheels - one of my Contis just gave up on me completely this morning (dammed temperature changes!), so I've got the donut on "until further notice". See, if this was in SoCal, I'd have no shitty MTA to rely on
