My Ride: 2006 550i...Black/Auburn, Premium Pkg, Comfort Access, Cold Weather Pkg, Active Steering, Heated Rear Seats
hey everyone. I downloaded the pocket dyno application for my iphone. i calibrated it and did a run which resulted in the following:
0-60 mph- 4.88 sec
Max distance- 463.2 ft
Max Accel- .66 g's
Max Power- 373 whp (278 kw)
I have a 2006 550i non sport. The only mods I have are: replica M6 wheels with Falken 452s (only driven 1000 miles), carbon filter delete, RPI scoop and BMC air filter. It was night and 29 degrees outside and i was driving in DS.
Does anyone have any experience with this pocket dyno application? is this 0-60 time possible? thanks

But do you think 4.88 is a realistic time for my car?

Is it critically important to know? If anyone asks, it's "5 seconds" When people ask me, I say 5.7s because that's what it shows on that website for the auto 545i. I've never tried timing it because knowing the number I can personally achieve with my wheels/tires/weight doesn't change anything.

There is a guy on this forum that got 4.78 0-60 in a stock 545i. I see no reason why a 550i couldn't do 4.8. Maybe not every 550 but these engines have some HP deviations and maybe yours has a little more. Maybe he will chime in.

I posted a link to a video in one of the dynolicious threads showing a comparison test of the iPhone application against the same equipment used by the professional testers. Long story short - the Dynolicious application showed virtually identical times. It appears that if it's set up correctly and used correctly it's pretty accurate. I've also seen a video where Dynolicious was tested against a drag strip, and again, it's accurate. Not bad for a $10 app!
