You can use any resistors around 6R but make sure they have heatsinks on them. The bulbs are 51W so you can the higher you can go with the resistor the better because it will generate less heat, but if you go too high you will get an iDrive error at one point. I have some if you want send me a PM.

If not, anyone have a link of what will? or can I go to radio shack and get a pair?

Those should do it. Just be careful where you install these. They get bl**dy hot. Why don't you install the LED lights first and they see if you get an error and only then proceed to wire these resistors up. Some lights need them others dont.

1W....the light output is not even close to being stock. i played with the 3W, 5W and 7W LEDs. the brightness is very dim compared to a regular filiament bulb. the fog light bulb is like something along the line of 50 watts or higher! i don think the light beam will be wide, even if they put a wide coliminator lense on it. like bruce say, the 6 ohm-50 watt rated is low resistance which allows high current--generating a lot of heat. if you go that route, best to like lay the resistor flat onto some safe metal surface. this helps dissipate the heat. how hot can it get? enought to melt certain plastic!

Once you installed the lights you could wire in a potentiometer, (a 5 to 10 ohm), this way you could adjust the applied voltage to see
what might work the best without giving a fault message in the i-drive. Once you have what you want, you could
wire in constant ohm resistors in the system, mindful of the previous heat issue.
Good luck!

The solution above is excellent but if you are going down this route make sure your potentiometer is 50W rated atleast otherwise you may fry the pot itself.
