Hi folks,
as the title suggests, I am awaiting delivery of a set of EU Adaptive Bi Xenons to retrofit to my EU 2003 545i with halogens from the factory.
I have searched and searched this forum for info, DIYs, part lists etc. but can only find fragments of info and not enough from any posts to undertake this long awaited upgrade. Also, most people have only attempted the non adaptive upgrade.

I would really appreciate if someone who has either done this mod or has the relevant knowledge to write up instructions for me and others to follow. It would appear from other posts that quite a few people have wanted to attempt this mod so perhaps a full write up for the DIY secion would be benificial for many.

I have pretty good mechanical and electrical abilities so I dont mind modifying looms etc. to get this done.

I have a 2003 545i with non adaptive, non xenon headlights.
I have bought 2006 (i think)M5 Adaptive Bi Xenon headlights with Bulbs, ballasts, starters and LCM.

What else do I need?
Where do I go from here?

Many thanks in advance for any info that can help

Just checked ETK, and it gives a straightfoward retrofit kit for your model. No mention of wire looms although that is to be confirmed. LCM part no's changed over 09/06, so it was a good idea getting a new LCM - although I'm wondering if the older one could have been coded as well for adaptive functions.

Can you take a foto of your current wire looms - how many are connected ? the adaptive/bixenon have 2, a large and small one...

I can take some pics but I will have to wait a few days until my lights arrive and I have my car stripped. Is there a chance that my existing loom can be used do you think? Will I have to get BMW to do some coding?
