I've yet to have any problems with my rear, license plate bulbs. They still work great!

LOL! I am done with my car. I'm not spending any more money on it for now. I'm building a theater room in my house, so that's where my cashola is going now. Sorry car.

Just bought the LEDs

Cant wait to do this mod!

Thanks everyone. I have Silvery Gray (A08), so went with SuperWhite color.. that should be good right or Blue?

Next mod should be Side marker conversion to LEDS! Any success on this mod?

White is what you want for the rear license plate bulbs. However, don't forget about the resistors! You need to have these. You can pick up a 2-pack at Radio Shack for $1.50.

As for the side marker bulbs, you don't want LED's. You just want the invisibulbs. They are clear when they're not on, but when you turn your blinkers on, they flash "amber/yellow" like stock. This way, you avoid the "egg yolk" effect when looking at the car, but once you turn on the blinkers, they flash the normal, yellow color.

I got mine from Bimmian, but they weren't cheap. I believe there are some cheaper bulbs by other compaies. Mine are the Solaris Invisibulbs. Just make sure you get the clear bulbs with the "yellow/amber" flash. They make them in a "white" flash, which you don't want. Do a search. You'll find others.

Here are the one's I got:

http://bimmian.com/product.htm?veh=&item=SOL

They are the Mirror Coat with Amber Illumination. They're the first set, when you click on the "side turn signal bulbs".

I would check to make sure your local Radio Shack has them. If they're out, you may be searching for a while. Otherwise, just buy them on their site. This way you have them when your bulbs arrive.

These are the resistors you want...

I got the bulbs individually from autolumination.com. Had to remove all the housings to figure out which ones I needed. I put blue LED's in the footwells and doorsills. I think it looks cool, but the GF hates it
It was quite a bit more expensive this way rather than get it from Bimmian, but I heard their set is very dim. These aren't that bright either, but I like it. If I did it over, I'd probably get a cheaper LED kit from some website like Bimmian and get separate colored LED's from autolumination for specific areas. I'll take some pics when I get a chance.

And BTW, here are the pics of my pup
