But isn't the rear tire size for 166s 285/35/19 ?

Maybe for M5......since the M5 has wider fenders. To avoid rubbing on non-M5 E60's its recommended to use 245/35/19 (F) and 275/30/19 ?..... also those are actually the recommended tire sizes by BMW for 19" 8.5 and 9.5 rims (i.e. that which is OE on 550i sports package.

Personally, I think it looks great. You just can't go wrong with those wheels. As far as the drop, I don't see a need for that either, but if it bugs you, then have at it. It'll look great either way.

Drop would look mean, but looks nice the way it is. I don't think the drop is necessary. A question... do you want this to be a an every day/family car or an occasional fun car? Mine will need to serve both, so I will choose the conservative set-up.
