My Ride: 2008 BMW 535i Carbon Black M Sports Package Mod: OEM 166 wheels, 12mm H&R Spacers
Default

Thanks to all you guys who gave me input on the OEM 166, offset , 12mm spacers and tire size recommendations. This setup may be an old topic on this forum with many existing pics, but I am absolutely thrilled with the results. I love looking at my E60 with this change. The likely next step is lowering subtly with Eibach Prokit springs.

Please note I currently have sports suspension shown in the pics. What's your thoughts on the gap between the top of tire and fender lip? Lowering a must? (This question is the male equivalent of "honey does this dress make me look fat?" but only diff of course is that I am actually looking for a real opinion ).

The wheels look beautiful but I think that, now, your car sits too high. I would lower if you can.

It definitely doesn't sit "too high", and is fine as is. But if you want to go more aggressive a drop would look hot.

You put 12mm spacers in back? Who gave you that advice? Don't be surprised if you're rubbing once you lower the car...or even now if you put 2 adults back there. 10mm is the widest you should go on the M5 offsets, on the rear. Hopefully 1mm won't matter...ET17 (M6 offset) vs. ET16 (what you are now with 12mm spacers).

Car looks great, though.

Hi DrLev99, I read as much as I can on this site and it seems 12mm was the most widely recommended....... I concluded from many posts that"
1) definitely no rubbing with 12mm before lowering (exception: one member, who concluded it was his tire brand/make that had sectional width greater than most others
2) some rubbing with H&R (passengers in rear, and with dips/bumps in the road when used with 12mm spacers
3) no cases of rubbing with Eibach with 12mm spacers

Naturally any first hand experiences are welcomed, before I do the lowering. Thanks for your comments.
