lower it with coilovers not springs, if you have that option financially

Hi DrLev99, I read as much as I can on this site and it seems 12mm was the most widely recommended....... I concluded from many posts that"
1) definitely no rubbing with 12mm before lowering (exception: one member, who concluded it was his tire brand/make that had sectional width greater than most others
2) some rubbing with H&R (passengers in rear, and with dips/bumps in the road when used with 12mm spacers
3) no cases of rubbing with Eibach with 12mm spacers

Naturally any first hand experiences are welcomed, before I do the lowering. Thanks for your comments.

You sure these recommendations for spacers were based on ET28 offsets? The widest that the guys on the M5Board use on their rears are 10mm, and the fenders on those cars are rolled. Some guys on here (with non-M5's) have even had rubbing on their ET17 166 M6 offsets, so I guess you'll find out.

Hopefully you won't have issues, but at least you can always drop down to 10's if you do....Good luck, and +1 on coilovers.

Yes, info was based on mounting 275/30/19 rears.....on ET17 (M6 offset) or ET28 (M5 offset) with 12mm spacers to make it ET16. Anyways as you said I'll find out and have to adjust accordingly. Thanks

Looks great

Makes me miss my previous E60s -- love the carbon black M-Sport with M166s combo

As for the spacers, I think you've covered it with Dr Levi, but I was also under the impression that 10mm was the max... good luck!
