Don't tyres for our e60's have pretty much the same outer diameter/rolling radius?

ABC
Yeah....a little "taller" actually with this wheel/tire setup (just slightly), but I think the car would have settled overnight if I had let it. Either way, once the springs are on, it will look perfect!

Hey Slick,

The tires/wheel combo is already slightly "taller" than my OEM's, despite the low profile tires. Any thicker rubber would really mess up the speedometer/odometer readings. These tires are the "recommended" size for these wheels. As for the warranty, there's no real way around voiding the manuf. warranty on the suspension. But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes to have a sweet looking ride! I just gotta watch out for the potholes!

I have to play it safe because I bought the car and need the warranty . How would the car ride if I were to put 19's on it and not change the suspension ? I may be limited to just the original 124's for the XI . This is probably a good question for Bambi. I believe he had 19's on his Xi and drove the car like that before changing the springs.

Your warranty is fine. By the time your shocks have to be replaced due to the new springs, your warranty will be over. Also guys, keep in mind that a Warranty is only voided for that certain "area in question", should a problem arise. So if you have engine trouble in a year, your warranty will not be void if you have aftermarket springs on the car. One has nothing to do with the other.

Why doesn't BMW lower the xi out of the factory? The suspension on Audi's quattro cars don't appear raised to me, regardless of wheel size.

It may be different in the US.

Here we have statutory warranty period and a longer warranty that may be given by the manufactuer.

The longer warranty (after one year) is entirely at the manufacturer's discretion - agreed if they want a good reputation then there won't be any quibble but there's always a first time...

Cuz BMW probably think we drive the AWD cars like monster trucks and need that extra clearance. Regardless, it's stupid and should come with a sport suspension if you order the sport model.
