Got these from a buddy of mine. I plan on refinishing them and bringing them back to life.

Here is a pic of one of the rears. I plan on taking them apart and repairing them and getting the faces redone. I'm not sure on the color yet. My plan is to have them done by the spring.



All four have a few nicks in the lip here and there. Since the lip is polished aluminum, repairing will be cake.



What you guys think? Any suggestions on color. My car is Titanium Silver

 

Wow! Congratulations! I really like the design and the wiiiide lip!

How about refinishing them on the same color as they are now? I think it would make a great contrast with the light color of your car and somehow I can imagine the combination of gold and a light silver would accentuate the car's color, which is pretty "pale" alone (if you can see what I mean).

I have been thinking about the same color, but maybe a shade darker perhaps but I dunno. I think the gold on silver may be too loud of a color in contrast. I'm on the fence really since I been pondering on darker colors too.

love the wheels! +1 on going with the same color scheme again.


but why not go all the way to the max and paint ur car red, black or blue and got crazy!

or dare i suggest a matte blue vinyl wrap....with those wheels that would be killer...

 

why not just pop them on the car as is and take a few pics for a poll?

The gold looks good.

If you don't like them, how about titanium brushed face and gloss black lip.


Lip pictured is Carbon fiber look. But you get the point.

I started work on the wheels. Not much to see though because this part is going to take a few days per wheel to repair the lips.

This is my approach. Note that this will ONLY work for aluminum wheels that are not clear coated. If your wheels have clear, you must strip them first.

180 grit dry to take out the gashes
400 wet
600 wet
800 wet
1000 wet
1200 wet
1500 wet
2000 wet

Currently I'm still on the 180 grit and here are some before and after shots of current progress. It's working like a charm

This is the lip before I got started. Unacceptable to say the least.



After hitting the lip with 180 grit. Gashes are gone



I'll have more pics later.

 

Few hours later..... all curb marks removed. Now on to the 400 grit wet.

 

Looks good
