I have to do some research... This is an XI and we actually do get quite a bit of snow in Eastern Washington... I don't have a clue what product to use to drop an XI, yet have the flexibility to raise it if need be during the Winter. I put 17" wheels and snow tires on in the Winter.

I was driving along on the freeway next to a stock Porsche 911 Carrera and looked over at the Porsche labeled brake calipers displayed clear as day behind the spinning wheel spokes... that was cool enough to convince me to paint the calipers red and put the BMW decal on it. Personally, I've enjoyed looking at the variety of painted brake calipers on this site and think anything looks better than oxidized wheels and rusty calipers.
sounds like a good enough reason to me.. at least you didnt put an M logo on it.. but your calipers look great.. better then plain ole rusty is right.. its a mod i foresee in my future..

2 options.....H&R sport springs or KW coilovers. If you want the ride to be right, do the latter, but be prepared to spend over $2K for them. The springs, however, can be had for less than $300, but the ride will be harsh and bumpy.

You don't need to worry about the snow with the car being lowered...it will still be a beast with proper tires.
