Hey guys, can anybody steer me in the right direction. I was wondering if there were any performance mods out there for my 2005 525i such as a chip or something. Also, will these mods void the warranty? Thanks

Superchips or Powerchips has a remap for your car. It will only void the warranty if you have an engine meltdown and the dealership knows you did an aftermarket remap. However, that's highly unlikely to happen. Also, I probably wouldn't go telling them you've done a remap either.
You can do an AFE Intake, Sprint Booster, so on and so forth...

another vendor for an ecu remap includes speed innovation as well. and as C said, other mods are available like intake, SB, exhaust, drop, etc.

My Ride: No mods
just get an exhaust and K&N air filter. It will sound faster. Chipping a 525 is not worth it.
Like you, I wish my 525i was faster. IMO, I would spend $$ on modding my exterior and interior.

Yup, I had an E39 525i that I loved but wanted more power. I talked to the guys at Turner and ended up adding nice BBS wheels, rear lip spoiler etc. No chip, you just can't get that much more out of that motor.
I would focus on reducing weight, a new exhaust will give it a nicer sound and usually save weight. A good set of light weight wheels and non run flat performance tires will do even more.

We offer an ECU retuning program that remaps your stock ecu with updated throttle maps, torque maps, intake/timing, raised rev limiters and a removed top speed limiter. You can check out Joe's thread about his experience with the upgrade:

Go unsprung weight like 25lb rims, then a LSD(limited Slip) Diff with a 3.9 ratio, remove the spare from the trunk, sway bar upgrade to a hollow one, Carbon fiber strut brace, hood, trunk lid etc . The exhaust alone will quicken this car, especially removing the bread box of a muffler
R1racer has a V8..its comparing apples and oranges.
