Performance Chip or other for my '06 530i?
#1
Can anyone tell me what the best way to pull some added HP and torque out of my '06 530i would be? I've installed a K&N filter so far. I came off a V-8 prior and would like a tad more omph out of my in-line 6.
Thanks,
Joe

Where are you from Joe?
The most common mods for power gains are exhaust, intake and chip tuning. And then there are the extreme like superchargers or turbos or increased displacement.
For the common mods, chip tuning would get you the most bang for your buck. There are a few companies out there that can chip or reprogram your car....Superchips, Powerchips, DMS, Upsolute, Kelleners....etc... I think prices range from $400 to $1400.
I think to get the most noticeable gain is to do the chip tuning and exhaust and cold air intake at the same time. Just my opinion.

Gives you a few vendor web sites for your research.
Although I was looking into 4.4L engine chip tuning I beleive all these vendors had offerings for the BMW I6 engines.
