I wanted to ask the same question. I would love to paint my caliper in red or mystic blue..

Make sure you use hi-temp paint or it will turn to crap and you will paint often.

The whole caliper painting thing has been a been a beef with me for some time. I can't figure out why BMW won't give us something like a powder coated caliper (silver would be fine -- no need for red, etc.) that holds up to the elements.

My dealer routinely re-sprays my calipers on my cars with hi-temp silver because they rust so quickly.

These days, it seems that most hi-end car manufacturers are including a "finished" caliper -- why can't BMW?

When I had my E46 M3 a lot of people recommended this company's kit:

You can buy it online at:
http://www.brakecaliperpaint.com/

I never used it myself though.

An employee just bought an IS300, powder coated calipers.

Rudy, you say high temp silver. Is it a matte finish, gloss, or mettalic?. I don't want to show them off, just slightly higlight them maybe, while taking care of the "blemishes" at the same time. Powder coating may be the way to go.

Think the caliper covers are cheap?

im sorry but I am highly opposed to painting calipers. It makes the car look s cheap if it does not come that way. Its not an aftermarket bbk kit. I feel those who do this just want to have the look of brembo or any aftermarket bbk without shelling out the money for it.
