My Ride: '05 Jet Black 545i | Sport | Cold Weather | Rear Sunshade | Premium | Logic 7
I've had my black '05 545 sport for about a month now and I want to do something to it. I really like red brake calipers, and I think it'd look good w/ the jet black. I've seen a few of you on here that have painted brake calipers but I didn't see a topic about it.
1) Should I have them powdercoated or is the DIY kind okay?
(DIY link: Red Brake Caliper Paint)
Will the paint chip or get really dirty? Will high-gloss paint still look good after a while? How would powdercoated look?
Is this something that someone that knows nothing about cars can do themselves?
Do I have anymore questions? I think no. For now.
I photoshopped the image from this gallery to see what it would look like and here it is.
AGAIN, THIS IS NOT REAL....PHOTOSHOP
Thanks,
-Ryan

The caliper paint is a high temp paint that should not fade or chip unless physically hit by rocks or whatever. The DIY paint works pretty good. A lot of my friends by it and do it themselves and it looks good. Tha t is my next plan when I remove my winter wheels for Summer.
