Those orange reflector thingies in the front of US Spec E60's really bother me..
I believe that even if you order the sports package here in the US they are still required by the DOT to have those. Is there any code i can give to my dealer to get those in the full clears like the a la Euro Spec ones or is it going to be like the E39's where we gotta either buy a set for around $1000 or swap with someone willing to ship.......

TIA my future E60 buddies.

Dennis

Unfortunately from what I understand you will have to buy them from someone like Bekkers.com. Don't think dealer will be able to order it that way.

Someone was going to try to just swap out the exteriorpart, Zippers525 I think, but have not seen any other info.

I also prefer the clear.

It sux guy. I already asked around to see if someone would like to swap. There is a place in the US that will order them but I do not know who. Search for a thread about a US spec guy looking for Euro headlights. I started the thread and you may find your answer there.
Supposedly if you took the lense off the orange was removable. Not sure what was behind it though.

I think you can just order them from your dealer. And if that is a hassle you can always ask one of the european boardmembers to do it for you.

- Initialdl don't we just have the best name in the whole world!!

interesting thread. I had wondered why the pics of our US members E60's all seemed to have different coloured inidicator (or repeaters). I actually had to go check mine as I thought for a moment mine might be the same and maybe i just had not noticed but i looked and they are the clear ones.

there must be a part # or something you can order for the reflector or is it a whole new light unit ?
