Hi,
While doing research before purchasing the 5. I have found several retrofit sets that you guys may not have heard of:
1. Backup camera - This is only available in Europe, provided by BMW. As for now, i have no idea if it's just plug-n-play or there is program update needed.
2. Navigation update - there are retrofit set sold on Ebay with all the part available.
3. HUD - as for now, there is the whole unit being sold at nice price, however, the amount of work need is tremendous.
4. Rear shades - manual back windows will be install but we can purchase part and wire the electronic shade manually. The side shade is unknown as of for now on how they will be install yet but it's done by BMW dealers.


Park distant is the only option that I have not seen anyone retrofit yet. But it should be out there since it's a very simple system that ppl have done with in other cars like Audi.

No I'm talking about real genuine part form BMW not modding third party parts used with BMW parts to get things done.

this is one example of the backup camera. I would not want the camera to mount on the license plate as the DIY. That messed up the nice look of the frame and make the car look weird. I like my car look like it orginally came with it.

 

That's what he meant too... plenty of posts about the ACM module and the rear & side camera's. All original (retrofit) BMW equipment.

Do a search on "ACM" and you'll find plenty of info about these.
