My auto sound guy who is going to hot wire my V1 into my new 550i is trying to sell me a K40 Laser Diffuser for about $425 installed. Just looking for opinions and to see if any of you have it and/or find it useful.
Thanks,
Jeff

I use the Blinder M25 along with a hardwired V1. Clean license so far - knock wood!

My wife has the K40 in her Volvo and Z3 and it works fine. Definitely go for the laser diffusers because otherwise all the laser detector will tell you is you are getting a ticket.
I use the Passport SRX in all my cars (06 F150, 04 Z4 and 08 535xi) and it is the best. Maybe it is not the best in the tests - but I trust it 100%. Its a bit more expensive than the K40 but its worth it to me.

I use the Escort SRX combination. I have it in my E60 and my 911. I swear by it and it's a much better looking install than the V1 imho.
There is a group buy for the Laser Interceptor going on at the Mazda6 forums if you are interested. If you don't mind, who is your sound guy and does he do good work? I live in NNJ and was going to try to install the Laser Interceptor myself, but am getting a little skittish.

Jeff,
I have the Blue screen 8500 X50 Passport in my 530i, and so far it is well worth the $339.00 that I paid for it a in 2004!! In fact, I am spoiled
now to it, and I would not leave home without it!! (LOL) (Remember unless laws have changed, their outlawed in Alabama and Virginia, - ALL Radar Detectors)
