My Ride: 2007 530xi - Silver/Gray, Gray Leather, 6 SP Manual, Premium, Sport, CW, CA, Shades, Logic7
Default

I got my 530xi last October, and I figured I could wait a year or two before putting on new wheels, but man, spring is here and I want some 18's!

I want to go OEM, so that pretty much leaves me with the 123's, 124's or 135m's. I like all of them, so I'm sure I'll be happy with any of them, but here are my thoughts:

123's - This has been the optional sport wheel for the 530, so you see it around fairly often, but I do like the simplicity of the design.

124's - Obviously you see these around quite often with 545's/550's, but I know in my area 525's/530's far outnumber the V8's, so this would be a nice way of dressing up my 530xi, while still keeping the look very OEM. Plus, it will be the new sport option for the 2008 530's (not sure if that's good or bad).

135m's - I like that these are very unique (not to mention very expensive), but I can't help wonder if they're a little too busy. Also, almost hate to admit it, but I'm a sucker for that little "M" logo.

So, knowing this is totally a subjective area, please provide me your opinions and/or experiences with these 18" options for my 530xi.

Oh, also - from realoem.com, it looks like the 124's are staggered. If I didn't want to go staggered, I assume I can simply order 4 "front" wheels to go all around, right?

Thanks!

Personally 123's would be my least favorite (I'm using them as my winter wheels and really don't think they do much for the car). I like the look of 124's much better and I also like the 135's.

I know the "normal" 124 fronts are at least close to the same offset as 123's and 135's, but don't know very much about wheels for the xi. Don't some of the 3 series offsets work? If so, this would open up some more options also.

Check out the 3 series line of wheels, there is quite a selection of them which look very nice.

My personal favourite is Style 199, and they come in 19" too, which is the best part. I'm gonna look into switching over to those wheels in the future.

I have the 123's for Winter and the 124's for summer. I'm also running staggered on the 124's for summer.

I would go with the 124's, only bc you can run staggered on these. The 135's are the same at all 4 corners.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will probably go with the 124's - after thinking about it some more and looking at more pictures, that style had gone to the top of my list, even before I saw your post.

How's the ride with the 124 staggered setup? Is it much harsher? Of course, I'd be comparing it to my stock 17" setup.

Any suggestions on where to purchase them?

Thanks again.

135 M is nice closer to M 166 wheels ask Tony aka Quad_M for a quote
otw why not a good brand aftermarket? I would love to have once a xdriven 535 (d) and then go with lowerings and 19"s there is no problem with that.

Those are just the 123's that became my winter wheels.

Going with 166's for summer. My suspension parts shipped yesterday -- hope to get them installed next Monday, then get the allignment done and the wheels on by next Thursday!
