Hi guys, just got a set of Style 95: 19x9 front and 19x10 rear. Tires are Yoko S.Drive. 235/35/19 front, and 275/30/19 rear. Now, the rear overall diameter is about 0.2" smaller than the front. I can see that the rear is a tad smaller in real life, and it bothers me a little bit. I was going to get 285/30/19 which would have been the same diameter as the front, but Yokohama doesn't make the S.Drive in that size. Next one up is 275/35/19 which is 0.8" larger in diameter compared to the front. Would you guys stick with 275/30 or go for 275/35? Or am I nuts and should forget about it?

I've photoshopped a comparison between the two. Top one is 275/30 rear, bottom one is 275/35. Front is the same in both pictures (245/35). I'd appreciate any feedback...

Thanks.
-Alex.

I am using M5 sizes 255/40 and 285/35 19" (wheel offset is 24 for front and rear), works fine and the wheel arch is correctly full. Besides best handling for E60 should be this setup thats why M5 has it.

I'm gonna go ahead and say your nuts stick with the 275/30/19, I think its just in your mind that you think you can see the 0.2" difference and if it really is the case that you can see the difference just put more air in the rear to make up for the 0.2"

+1 Agreed, I have 275/30/19 and 245/35/29 r/f respectively. Can't tell there's a difference and as I recall you may have no choice since the taller tire may cause some rubbing issues.

OK, I guess I AM nuts! Don't know why I keep seeing the rears as being smaller. I wonder if my rear rim width has anything to do with it. It's 10" wide, and maybe it pulls the sidewall so it's not as straight? Is it possible that rim width has any effect on how the sidewall looks? Thanks for the inputs guys.

the rim wicth will definitely affect the way the sidewall looks, with the 10" width you will have some stretch to your wheels which may make the sidewalls look lower because they are being stretched a little.
maybe not so crazy after all.

recommended sidewall sizes for 19s for our e60s are 35 and 30. for those dimensions of wheels, same as the Forgestars we do, we pair them with 245/35 and 285/30

XMan: yes, I do have sport package.

Nerwyll: I was going to go with 285/30 but Yoko doesn't make that size on S.Drive, and I already bought the 4 tires. My local tire shop is willing to credit me the rears (prorated) and get me the 275/35.

I wonder if the stretch caused by the 10" rim width will have the same effect on the 275/35 so it doesn't look too thick.
