eBay LCI Tail Light Replicas
I thought I'd start a post on these since the only posts I could find when I was looking for information were two years old. I bought these:

I wasn't expecting an exact LCI replica but I did want to refresh the ass end of the car and I'm just not willing to spend $800+ on brake lights and cables. I'm not cheap; I just can't justify that to myself for something that I never see and not many people would notice. That said, I bought a pair of eBay LED tail lights for my 2004 Grand Prix 3 or 4 years back and they looked absolutely stock with the exception of the LED array. So I bit the bullet and bought them.
Got the lights today and the first thing I noticed is that fit and finish was superb. They look stock and when installed on the car they fit the lines perfectly. They are smoked the perfect amount, at least for my silver car... dark enough to notice and light enough that it doesn't look like a teenage kid got drunk and careless with a can of Night Shade.
As far as Bruce's cables go, I guess you get them to turn off the two brake light bulbs so that you can see the luminescent strips, right? I'm not sure what their purpose is but I can't see a reason to get them for these. Despite my pictures below, the two incandescent bulbs behind the strips are very dim, almost not noticeable until you hit the brakes. There are also no error codes present.
Pictures are below. Keep in mind that these are iPhone pictures and I can't exactly switch iris settings, white balance etc so in a few pics it looks like the area behind the strips is bright. It's not though. Also, looking in the pictures it looks like the edges of the strips are brighter and the centers are dim but I didn't remember it looking like that on the car so I just took a look and they are evenly lit on the car. The light source for the strips is on the edges though and the phone's camera exaggerates that.
Overall, total cost: $200. Amount I'll get back for my stockers: probably close to that. For the money though, these are a no brainer until the LCI lights get consistently cheaper and even then, I don't think they're better... just different.

a couple members have these...they seem to be pretty happy with them as well. its a nice in-btwn option. i personally love the OEM LCI tails much more but you have to be willing to pay twice the price and not all of us can seriously justify that.
one word of caution, i see you have plans to sell your stock pre-LCI tails....they garner very weak dollars in the secondary market. i would go straight to ebay with them....and expect less than $100 for the set. but hey, whatever cash u get is a bonus at this point right?
congrats on your upgrade, lookin good man

Over two years ago I sold mine for $80 shipped and it was in near perfect condition.
