if u spray it black, it's going to absorb heat. Let it stay chrome. If you want to spray, at least spray it silver. You dont want black.

Not sure if that's true. Under the sun, black aborbs more heat compared to chrome/shiny surface due to fact that it can reflect/redirect the light/heat else where. If the heat shield is under the hood, the material is same and OP is only spraying the cover to black. I don't think it would make any difference. But what do I know, I'm not a Chemical Engineer like you.

Wow, another dual intake mod.

We really do need someone to do a before and after dyno of this mod.

Actually black will absorb radiant heat from the engine, even though its dark under your hood there is a lot of infra red radiation under there so you would be better off with something light/reflective

Are you mocking me now? =P

It doesnt matter if it's in sunlight or anywhere else. Of course in direct sunlight, it also turns light into heat energy. Black also absorbs radiant heat. Inside the hood, it's radient heat.

Darn chrome is ugly. Well if black aborbs the heat then why are our intakes black? The thermo wrap is it the wrap that makes it work or is the the chrome that does the trick?
