Default Oil level sensor

Changed my oil level sensor today when doing my oil change. Not able to check the level and reset oil service reminder. Yes it is made in China. Should it work without doing anything else? Or did my gamble not pay out? 😆

It is either a bad connection, bad part or your gamble failed.

You usually cannot gamble with BMWs because they are very picky.

Buy an OEM and you'll be good

Oh I know. When it is a 4th of the price of OEM and easy to change myself I had to gamble. Time to donate some blood...BMW's love blood money. 😁

I just had to try it as $360 for a new one seems wrong. I remember way back in the day you pulled a flat piece of metal out of a tube....and amazingly it showed the oil level right away! 🤣

What brand did you buy? I see
Hella Hella
on Amazon for $53 (US).

I can't remember the brand. Made in China.
That sensor apparently doesn't fit my '06 530i N52B30. Having a tough time with Hellas website to find a P/N# to confirm.

BTW, why did you need to change your oil level sensor?

Because it wasn't giving me a consistent level.

Slap a pre-owed one in there then. I see a bunch on eBay.
