Looking to buy a set of 19" 166 or 167 wheels. I can get the replicas which look identical w/ BMW caps+m logo on ebay for about 1500 or look to pay about double from BMW. Is it worth getting them straight from BMW or should I go with the replicas?

I have a set of style 135 replicas for my winter set up and never had a problem. I have, however, cracked 2 OEM rims so who knows. The replicas are definately heavier and perhaps a bit stronger as well.

Check out Garry at Newport BMW, new to E60 members for about $1500/set. He has a sticky on the parts and acc section.

Not too difficult.. if you were going to spend $1500 on replicas then contact Garry at Newport BMW and purchase OEMs for the same price!!..

it's a personal choice for sure.

As far as prices, my guess is that you were talking with rubber on the rims? I had a set of replicas on my last BMW 325ic and had no issues at all. I bent one of them in 5 years of driving, compared to 5 OEM rims in 3 years of driving.....yes I even bent the spare. In my opinion, the big things to compare are the weight and make sure the finish is exactly as you want it. I have seen some replicas that are either more matte finish or a lot brighter than OEM and they stand out as replicas. Get the weight and make sure the finish and clear coat are to your liking...but save the cash is my preference.

The wheels I posted above are not replicas. Checkout Tischer BMW. They have parts for everything, just plug in your model, year etc...and you'll be able to easily do a search, although it sounds like Newport has better prices.
