So a few weeks back I upgraded my exhaust with a Dinan setup. After I paid for the install I asked the service manager if my old exhaust was in my trunk and he looked at me as if I had 2 heads. He said no one ever takes their original exhaust with them, that they usually just dispose of it. I can't imagine many folks just let the dealer (or whoever installs their upgraded setup) just throw out the original exhaust, they run $1000+ new!. Those of you who have upgraded, what did you do with your original factory exhaust? Is there a market for them or anything, or was the dealer spot on when he said no one takes the old ones? I would assume those that lease hang on to them so they can return the car in original condition, but when you buy the car, what do you do?

I would keep it...You never know when you want to sell your car...It's hard to sell a modified car....This way you can always put it back to stock if you sell it...It will save you a few hundred dollars when you have to try and find a used one...

Yes, mine is also in the garage taking up space. I figure, I can put the car back to stock and it'll be easier to sell aftermarket part than your OEM part.

Install it in on your lawn mower and cut the grass in style.

Keep it. If you ever wanted to go back to stock its over 1,000 to buy a new one from BMW.

I got my OEM muffler back. Now it's just sitting there. When I upgraded to Mtech kit, I let them keep the stock kit.
