I was trying to find out if installation of the oem CF splitter for an M-tech bumper required drilling or does it mount using existing screws in the bumper cover? I really hate to have to drill into the bumper.

I have read a few posts that say the tape can leave a small gap where the splitter meets the bumper. It is really hard to find any pics of the oem m-tec splitters on a car, probably because they are quite pricey.

I wouldn't use tape- I'd drill and use properly spaced nuts/bolts with washers. You can't see them anyway and they'll even give some bump/scrape protection (minimal). It's just plastic and easy to restore even if you decide later to go back.
