OEM 2-part exhaust muffler only on 545 or 550?

Yes, the V8 cars have the 2 muffler design. Its basically twice as heavy and twice as quiet as a regular muffler.

The 530i and 525i do NOT have 2 mufflers. They only have one muffler, so that's why a stock 530 is louder than a stock 545.

BTW, the M5's system seems to be similar to the 545. It was the 2 muffler design, but 2 on each side, so the M5 has 4 mufflers! I hope the M5 isn't 4 times quieter and heavier though!

My Ride: MY2005 E60 545iA (Delivered 10th September 2005), Silver Grey, Black Dakota, Maple wood Sycamore Anthracite. Mods done: M-Kit, ACS racing type IV 9.0JX20" and 10.0JX20" on Michelin PS2 front 255/30/20 and rear 295/25/20. Mods to come: ACS suspension set, ACS trunk spoiler, ACS roof spoiler, ACS alu foot pedals, ACS exhaust, M5 trunk finisher, M5 Mirror or ACS Mirror.

Thanks for the info guys! I think I will get the ACS exhaust.... not too loud but not as quiet as it is stock. By the way, since I am running on non-runflats now, I put a spare in the trunk so I could benefit from some weight savings.
