cobb hand held units are not VIN specific? so you can flash more than one car/VIN with the same unit? if not, how is it resellable?

When you install it is "married" and you can't install it in any other vehicle.. But If your done with it you unmarry it. And it knows no vehicle. And will do all n54 cars that Cobb offers tunes for. ( 335,135,535.) so a broad market.. Cost about $850 from the right dealer . Used there going for about $750.. I used it... its a nice tune , plus very easy which I really like..

+1 on the Cobb, and on what TL said. A little more expensive, but much more flexible, and easily resellable. Running the 93 Octane map with alt throttle response, the car is seriously quick.

after you boot up the system and have dialed in your tune, do you disconnect the module or do you have to keep it plugged in and store or mount it somewhere in the car?

I throw it I the glove box unplugged. if a code pops up plug it in and read it. If I wanna boost gauge plug it in. Easy peazey. Everybody has there favorite tune, but all of them are around the same boost level on a stock n54 engine. I'm all about easy. Full disclosure I'm not currently using Cobb b/c I am modded beyond cobbs capabilities. But when stage 2 drops I'll plug it back in.
