The OEM remote turns on after a door/trunk opens and shuts off about 2-3 minutes after closing the last door/trunk.

Now, if you play music while the car is not running, or leave a door/trunk opened then the OEM remote can be on for about 8-10 minutes.

Technic, I bought a JBL MS-8 after my CIC upgrade and I need to buy ASAP the three harnesses that you used for this installation (Quadralock, extension and AMP harnesses). How do I get them?

How you have that CIC configured coded- and wiring-wise?

Hi Technic,

I have a 2010 535xi (E60) with the navigation premier (8.8' screen). The audio is regular Hifi (option 676A).

I would like to add center channel speaker, replace the oem 8 speakers with BSA Stage 1 speakers, and add the JBL MS-8 to power the center channel, and possibly the rest of the 4 channels of new speakers as well.

Can you give me an idea the proper route to take?

I've read through all the posts on this thread along with nemerous others on this topic. Have some idea now, but would love to get confirmation of the proper steps to tackle this project.

I have little experience in aftermarket hu replacements. Did a couple benz and a E30 bmw. But never worked on a car as new as the 2010 E60.

Much obliged!

Theo

I'm in the same boat. About to do CIC retrofit to my pre-LCI with MS-8 and full speakers swap + 2 amps.

Can I code CIC to HIFI and just take all the low-hi level input from CIC directly into MS8?

my biggest question is totally unrelated to the purpose of this post. but im trying to remove the trim piece under the cd player. the wood trim that holds the buttons for DTC and the parking sensors. to remove this, do you have to remove everything from the top or will this pry out as a single piece without having to take everything apart?
