I had similar issues with my 2007 550i. I would tune directly to 184, but it would never activate. Eventually, instead of the manual selection, I went through the menu to the categories section and then went to traffic/weather and then to 184. I then re-sent the activation and it worked. Tuning directly to 184 via the manual selection would never work for me but via categories did. Try this and see if it helps you, this was the only way I could get this to work.

BTW, first post for me. Cheers!

Thanks! that's great info -- when I get the car back from the dealer today I will try again.

Now how can I make my suspension stiffer and how can I lose the wood trim inside?
Another way to make sure the sirius module resets is to disconnect the battery (in the trunk right hand side). Leave it disconnected for about 30min just to make sure all power drains from the system. Once you turn the car back on I think you can go to the sirius web site and send an activation signal yourself.

It might not be the original SAT receiver that came with the car so the ESN number might not correspond to the vin number. It might be worth checking the ESN number printed on the SAT receiver in the left rear of the trunk ( very easy to see if you look for it ). It should also pop up on the display screen, but it does not hurt to double check since your having so much trouble activating it.

Im having the same issue. have tried numerous attempts. Where is the receiver on the left side of the trunk area. I see the little compartment that you can uncover but nothing but plastic on the inside. Sirius told me that if you can see the channels, then you are getting the signal. I explained to him that I see the channels but it will not let me do anything like the owners manual states.
