I took some pictures of the insides of the wheels. Today is my day off so i get to play with the camera and crawl underneath my BMW.

Please let me know if there seems to be anything wrong with these. I hope the sound I am hearing are not the bearings.

Front left picture attached.

stormace, if the photo you labeled as "front right" is of the passenger side front tire, photographed from the front, then the water removing tread is on the outside, not on the inside as JDN said it should be. The same applies to the "front left" tire if that is indeed the driver's side front tire photographed from the front.

PeterF, thanks for pointing out my mistake in labeling, I have gone ahead and relabled and it should be correct now. i distinguished it as driver's and passenger's side (US Specs) to save any confusion.

So it seems like my tires are on correctly, what would be causing the tire rotation sounds I hear then?

stormace, in the original labeling I figured out that left on the rear coordinated with left on the front and so forth. Looks like they are indeed rolling correctly.

I got an autobody shop owner who works on aftermarket tuning of MB, BMW and Ferrari's to look at the tires. The owner says that he can reduce the 'swooshing' sound the tires are making by 60%. He can do so by switching the 2 front tires (left to right, vice vcersa) (rotating), my concern is, the treads would be backwards, won't it? Should I give it a shot?

I asked that question a while back and no one ventured an answer. My thought is that water removal would not work as well and handling may not either. However, . . .
