to get rid of the lights behind bars, u can possibly route the signal to the rods. This may also make the rods brighter but mayh blow it. Only when the brake lights come on, then u have that power source power the bulbs. It should be a few hacks and wiring and not too complicated but IMO, I would rather have the LCI tails. The LCI tails just look much better. But then again, u save $700. LOL. That's too big of a chunk of change.

Indeed John it is a nice chunk of change. Shoot, with that much not spent, that means EVERYONE should be buying the rest of the lighting upgrades from you!! I mean weren't your used VMR's with tires $700?

Update for you guys.

They currently have 6 clear and 5 tinted sets left.

Seller asked me to get names of those interested and he'll set a price below the listed ebay price.
The law of supply and demand says the price of those lights should be close to $400 by now...

Another thing that came to mind if you wanted to make the back lights brighter (of course only when braking) would be to swap the stock bulbs with hyperbright bulbs or LED bulb which John might have for sale.

I was asking about back up or reversing lights not back lights.

Ah. In that case, my answer still applies in the fact that you can use brighter bulbs if you are afraid they're not bright enough but you will be using 3 out of the 4 existing bulbs from your OEM tail lights, one of them being the reverse lights (the bulb in the little white rectangle). Hope that helps!

-- There are three resistor packs (8 resistors per pack). Two, surprisingly, go to the two running/brake lights. Bruce may understand their use - I'm guessing error code suppression. I'm not sure about the third pack, but I will find out via disconnecting it and seeing which light(s) is affected. If this pack runs the LED bars, I could see bypassing a single resistor of the eight to possible brighten them up some - kinda scary thinking about longevity to the LED's tho.
The two resistor packs connected to the brake lights may be some ambitious design plan to change those bulbs to LEDs as well. They won't be required if you are using the normal bulbs and I would disconnect them if I were you, its just causing unnecessary heat at the moment.

What about Strobing. If all you can see are resistor packs then you should be getting the initial Strobing on the LEDs when you start the car up with the lights OFF.

Interesting about the resistor packs. Want to know my theory? I think they are artificially dimming the bulbs perhaps to keep them from being overly bright against the LED rods. Easy to test - the resistor packs are plugged in-line to the bulbs so just a jumper is needed to bypass. I'll check the voltage drop with the packs in place.

I didn't think about the startup strobing. I'll have to check that out this evening after work.
