Need help choosing a tire size for my 04 530i for a set of 166's i bought. I have been told that i can not run or use the M5 tire size cause its too big. Can anyone fill me in on what size i should use for the front and rear. by the way i have sport suspension if that helps.....

245/35/19 Front, 275/30/19 Rear are the recommended sizes for staggered wheels.

+1. That tire size will fit on the 166s and not cause rubbing for the non-M5 E60s.

I run PS2s in 245/40-19 and 285/35-19. The fronts definitely rub on bumpy corners. The backs have never rubbed that I've noticed. When its time to replace I will drop down 5 profile points at least for the front.

i have 245/35 and 275/30 on my 128s, but I'm switching over to 285/30 in the rear in the hopes of getting a little more than 13k miles out of the rears. My theory is:

245*.35=85.75mm height
275*.3=82.5mm height
285*.3=85.5mm height

a 285/30 seems like the more logical choice, there are much fewer tires available in that size, but luckily my favorite Mich PS2s are available.

I've only run mine since August but I've notice no rubbing at all with the sport package and on our pretty poor (but fun) windy PA country roads so the 285/35 might give a little more sidewall forgiveness... My other car runs 295/30-19s and it looks like a sliver of rubber- I'm always petrified by potholes...

Just a thought-
