Pickup OBD2 Cable from eBay.. Have your WIndows 7 or Windows 10 Laptop ready..

I would only purchase these cables..

https://www.amazon.com/AntiBreak-Ediabas-Interface-Support-serials/dp/B07GRG44FP/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=e60+obd2+cable&qid=1582810150&sr=8-8 https://www.amazon.com/AntiBreak-Ediabas-Interface-Support-serials/dp/B07GRG44FP/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=e60+obd2+cable&qid=1582810150&sr=8-8

You can get the one without the switch also... Save yourself time... Get this one - ( Pin's 7 - 8 Bridge / Not Bridged)...

Reach out when you need help..

Did you get it working? I'd recommend you also get a aux-bluetooth adapter. It makes everything so easy. I have mine wired up behind the steering wheel so I can take calls and the mic works just fine

This is the adapter I've been using for the last year
Amazon Amazon

This is where I put my aux cable

That's where the BT adapter sits

You can't even tell it's back there
