Are the fin branches curved on their insides? Since you can't bend the LED strips I wonder if there is any kind of clear drying product you could apply to their inside curves to straighten them out before you attach the LED strips? Clear attached to clear would carry the light all the way through... Even if it's cut clear plastic you stencil out first and apply to the inside, kind of like an inside "lip"? I would think these would be pretty small slivers and youd never see them. Just thinking...

Your idea of filler is actually not a bad one. Unfortunately, in my case it's too late since I used a pretty permanent bond adhesive. There will be no coming off without damage to the fin and LEDs.
Having said that, I actually think this is going to work out rather well, lol, so hold and trust my vision
Here's a pic of the top two fins lit. Now I am really going to get some food.

Mike, on a second look, I think your suggestion is valid. Possibly without the LEDs that are protruding, it would look "cleaner". Plus I am visualizing it right now, and it would cause all the lit fins to appear more parallel as well.
So that option is now currently on the table.
I am going to wire it all up and see how it looks, since I can always just break off the 5 LEDs later (conversely, there would be no reasonable way I can get it back on if I break it off since it would be impossible to solder at this point).
Maybe if someone is good with photoshop, they can illustrate what it might look like without that whole parts lit. I am just concerned that it might look having a quarter of the top fin unlit.
