no retrofit possible. If you don't have nav you have it, if you have nav you can't get it, since the CCC is right behind.

Um, Ice... wrong cubby... I'm talking about retrofitting the one on the left of the steering column.... AND the wood facia for the non-nav cubby under the cd and over the DSC/Heated Steat/Etc controlls... (for those of us without NAV)

My bad!
I think Kris "Kigerka" talked to his dealer about the retrofit of the cubby hole under the headlamp controls (I can't believe I didn't read "under the headlamp controls"... ). I think it's possible.

the wood facia for the non-nav cubby under the cd and over the DSC/Heated Steat/Etc controlls
That should be possible, since all MY2005 E60's have it, also the ones without nav.

My Ride: '05 525iA (steptronic) Jet Black, Beige interior, poplar trim, premium package, cold package, Logic7 w/ 6 CD changer. Due to be delivered in Nov.
Default

There is now a picture on BMWUSA.com in the 530i gallery showing poplar on the lower front piece. No pic of the rear so you can't tell if the put wood on the back of the center console....but I think the '05s do have it there as well.

The parts department ordered a piece for me. It is all one piece however, the top portion with the cut outs for the climate controls, etc is plastic and the only piece that has the wood trim is the lower half around the CD and Nav DVD. They will have to remove the long horizontal piece that runs along the top. The piece I looked at has two bolt holes at the top to hold it in. The rest is held in place by clips. They are going to reorder to get gray since I have the gray interior with antricite. I've gone this far so I guess its too late to back out. I just hope they put it all back together so the fit is neat and tight.

This is very interesting. I thought it would only be a small wood piece.

Somebody took it apart and took a pic of it, then posted it here. It's indeed one big part, but no problem to switch. Rudy allready posted the instructions before. You need the right tools though...

<_< i guess ill have to wait till nex year when they introduce the whole piece in wood (just guessing here), including the parts around the climate control... that would be worth the hassle, i was interested but now it seems too expensive and complicated for a little piece

The piece is 58 Euro. Don't know about install. I ordered mud flaps also, 40 for each set, front and back for 80 euro and 1/2 hour labor to install. I'll get all done on Wednesday. Figure total price to come up shy of 300 euro. That's a bit expensive but hey, what else would I spend it on. I just spent $350 for one round of golf at Royal Troon,Scotland. That lasted 5 hours. This should hopefully last a little longer. I'll show everyone on Saturday.
