Should I be pressing in the clips with a screwdriver from top & bottom at same time while trying to pull out ???

This bugger doesn't want to pop out !!!

I did one at a time. It's kind of tough to do both at once. If you cant get the button out you're going to be quite scared removing that long trim piece. It's acctually quite simple but you have to know closely where each connection is made on the dash so you can pry it off at each of those spots. If you try prying it off in dead air I'd fear you could crack the trim. Rudy posted a PDF with that info some time ago which I can't seem to find now.

I just noticed on the photo in the begining of this thead, the Maple wood's grain is running horizontal. On my 2005, the maple wood is running vertical to match the grain around the shifter.

The whitish/grayish lines are still verticle. There does seem to be some other horizontal lines in there but I think that's just due to the angle of the picture was taken in. You can see the lines running vertically in Gizmo's pic so all is well!

PS. Does anyone know the part number for this piece if you have Poplar and NAV (hence NO cubby hole) -- the solid piece?

Gizmo:
Thanks for the part number, I appreciate it. By the way, when can you come by and replace my trim? I figured after you did yours you would be pretty good at it.

If you want to remove the hazards removed just take a small flat tip to the bottom of the switches and it will come out easily.

Had my titanium trim installed today. Can't really tell a differance since I have a grey interior but it looks better. Will post pics later.
