Do your sums and tell me how much taller the wheel is I am aware of the percentage aspect of the tyre ratio.

Are you sure you're aware of it?

The B&B muffler has such a sweet note to it.? For about two weeks I preferred turning off the music and just listening to the exhaust.
I drive a manual and downshifting/rev-matching is such a joy with this.

Nice wheels, I have 18" with 245/40 front and 275/35 rear and I notice from your side on shot that the wheels look small in the rear arch why the hell is this I have the same problem and i wondered if I had went for 275/40 rear would the extra 5mm make the difference see pic The front looks really well as the wheel fills the arch. As I say your wheels look really well

[/quote]I wonder why you quoted me here as your post had nothing to do with my comments. Anyway...

From your signature, I take it that you've got 9" all around. A 10" width in the rear wheels will help to fill that space even more. Especially from the rear 3/4 angle shot you posted (obviously won't notice a 1" wider wheel too much from a direct side shot of a vehicle).

Also, the "35" or "40" in the dimensions of a tire is not measured in millimeters. Instead, it is a "percentage" of the first number which IS measured in millimeters. Getting a 40 series (vs. 35) will make for a taller tire (assuming the width stays at 275mm), however, it's not going to be "5mm" taller.

oh and sorry for hitting the quote button as opposed to the reply one

My .02 cents
275/30/19 is actually 30 percent of the width (275) gives you the actual height. Thats why when you go wider and stick to the same 30 series the height of the tire still increases. 295/30/19 - 30 percent of 295

I don't get it....The car is not lowered with 19's but there is a significant gap between the tire and the fender.

http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=12892

The car in this link is not lowered with 20's but look at the difference in gaps. Both are Sport package. Does 20's make a big difference?
