with my new set up, i'm considering spacers to give her a wider stance.

can EVERYONE who is running spacers pls chime in and let me know if you've had any safety issues and/or concerns? also, any difference or variance in performance handling?

No issues at all. I do take them off before going to the track though.

Its safe John. I have some 5mm spacers in the front right now to make the front tires flush with the fenders.

Back when I had the 166s, I ran 10mm spacers in the rear. Its all cosmetics

I ran new 12mm H&R spacers on the front of my M5 and got noticeable vibration & steering wheel shimmy. I removed and put back on, hoping for better results by possibly seating them better, and it changed nothing. I removed them and vibration gone. Some have issues, some do not.

I only run rears as a result now, on my 550i.

Then don't worry about it and do it! My rear rims looks soooo much better now that it's bumped out. I couldn't stand looking at it prior. Don't forget the extended lugs.

nah, i was able to "negotiate"...you guys should know me better than that! i'm debating on going with 285's, but my tires are fairly new....so the spacers will be a temp fix.
