Thumbs up

Soon i'll change my tires from RF Goodyear to some non RFT like Michelin PS2. The thing is that i have 18' rims from the M kit 135 model if i'm correct. So it comes with 245/40 r18 both f and r. So from your experience can i mount some 245/40 on the front and some 275/35 r18 on the back? How would it look? I mean keep the same size like on the 19 inch alloys but on the 18' ones. What do you think? Is it a good move or should i stay to the current sizes? And another thing i saw at some aftermarket store some pics with the Michelin PS1 and PS2 and i was amaized to see the PS1 look much much better, have a more racing slick look like the goodyear eagle f1...and the price difference is 10 euros (340 euros PS1 vs 350 euros PS2). What do you think about this?
10x alot in advance.

multumesc why buy Michlein you do not watch F1?

Buy Continental and for staggered you can go but keep the original size. M 135 are not staggered are they?

The key element in the tire size issue is rim width. The recommended width for the 245 is 8-9 1/2 inch, for the 275 is 9-11 inch width. Not sure what your 135 rim widths are but I assume 8 inch. Trying to put the 275 on an 8 inch width rim could cause early damage to tire amd / or some strange looking bulge in the tire wall. Not recommended at all unless you get wider width rim.

I also have MSports pack w M135 rims.

I decided to go for the M172 rims with non runflats. These are 19" & staggered set up with 275 at the rear.

Yeah i watch F1 and i don't really care too much because f1 is f1 and daily driving is smth tottaly different. People should stop comparing those 2. Anyway if you think this way, think about what else happened during all the racing period of time: michelin got only good results if not the best in F1 and wrc and moto gp and all kind of motorsports. Michelin is on foreing land in usa a bit, where bridgestone has alot more experience...anyway that's another story, another topic...One thing is for sure: ALL my friends, and people around me told me that michelin is michelin, the best , even some emploiyees from "tire repairs" (don't know the exact term) told me that they rarely met with problems with michelins and for sure they didn't have any purpose in hiding the truth aaaand not to mention what onther forum members told about ps2. Continental? hmmm... what conti sport contact2? no thanx i have those tires on my passat and they are quite noisey.
For looks i have to addmit that japaneese tires look the best especially toyo.
What does stagger mean?

Rear tires are widder than the front... (*usually*)

so a 245 f and 275 r is called a staggered set up.

You are right! I'll have too look for the width for the 135 rims. Anyway maybe the camber could be affected aswell. For sure it is better to stick with the stock sizes. 10x! BTW do i have to look for the width of the tire aswell? Or just buy some 245/40 R18 non rft?

Oh ok! didn't know that...thanx. I know my 135 rims are not in a staggered setup. From what i know only the 172 19" ones come in staggered setup. So i got the ideea the only way is to change the rims.

That's the best way to stagger, using the different wheel width in rear. Even if u cannot buy from Tire Rack u can go to their web site (www.tirerack.com) and get a lot of info on tires. Will give you important specs, such as diameter, rim width recommendations, tread wear, traction, etc. Available for all major brands. Good site for research. Select the tire u want and hit "specs".
